Sonia Alejandra Rodriguez is an Associate Professor in the English Department at LaGuardia Community College, CUNY, where she teaches composition, literature, and creative writing. She received her Ph.D. in English from the Department of English at the University of California, Riverside in 2015. Her research introduces the “conocimiento narratives” as a way to read realist fiction within Latinx children’s and young adult literature. She is currently working on her monograph on this topic. LatinxKidLit on Instragram is space dedicated to highlighting Latinx children’s and young adult literature. Each post includes a picture of the book cover, a brief summary and review, and when relevant, links to outside sources that relate to the topic/theme of the book. LatinxKidLit is meant to serve as a resource guide for anyone interested in learning more about the category, anyone looking for diverse recommendations for young readers, and as a way to generate conversations on diverse literature for young people.
